Quick Guide: Using RØDE Microphones (Wireless PRO) with OBS

1. Recording in OBS via the Receiver

Connect the Hardware

  1. Connect the receiver to the laptop using a USB-C cable.
  2. Turn on the transmitters (microphones) and pair them with the receiver.
  3. Check that the receiver is showing an audio signal.

Set Up OBS

  1. Open OBS.
  2. Under Sources, click + → Audio Input Capture.
  3. Create a new audio input device.
  4. Select the RØDE Receiver as the audio device.
  5. Perform a short speaking test to verify that audio levels are visible in OBS.
  6. Start recording by clicking Start Recording.

2. Recording Simultaneously on the Receiver and in OBS

For additional backup, it is recommended to record simultaneously on the RØDE system.

Procedure

  1. Turn on the receiver and transmitters.
  2. Connect the receiver to the laptop via USB-C.
  3. Prepare OBS for recording.
  4. Press the Record button on the receiver.
  5. Internal recording will start.
  6. The recording indicator will appear on the display.
  7. Then click Start Recording in OBS.

Recommendation: Start the receiver recording and the OBS recording as close together as possible to make synchronization easier during post-production.


3. Exporting Audio Files from the RØDE System

Connect the Devices

  1. After recording, place all three devices into the charging case and connect the charging case to the laptop via USB-C.
  2. If necessary, keep the devices powered on.
  3. Open RØDE Central. (Administrator rights are required for installation.)

Export Files

  1. In RØDE Central, select the desired transmitter or receiver.
  2. Navigate to the Recordings section.
  3. Select the files you want to export.
  4. Click Export.
  5. Choose a destination folder on the laptop.

The exported files can then be imported into OBS, Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or other video and audio editing software.
